Food-contact materials should suit the product, temperature, cleaning chemistry and expected life. Review corrosion, cracking, swelling, odor absorption, surface texture and migration requirements with qualified suppliers.

A premium textured finish may be attractive on the outside and troublesome in a food path. Keep decorative choices away from areas where residue needs to be seen and removed.

Remove Crevices, Traps, and Unnecessary Fasteners

Inspect seams, welds, screw heads, gasket edges, tube connections, corners, rail channels and sensor brackets. Ask where powder, oil, sauce or crumbs will go after the hundredth cycle, not only the first.
